General registration ends on June 30, 2025 (for both qualifier events) and July 7, 2025 (for the second qualifier only).

The 2-division Cyber Defense Competition (2CDC) is designed for those new to cyber, or early in their development of cybersecurity skills, who have begun to develop cyber proficiency. The 2CDC competition can be a starting point for students interested in competitions and prepare students to compete in highly competitive events like CCDC, NCL, or the US Cyber Games. 2CDC has two divisions, one for teams from 2-year colleges and one for teams from 4-year universities. Teams can consist of up to 5 members, with institutions fielding up to 3 teams each in the qualifier tournament.

This national qualifying tournament is managed by the National CyberWatch Center. The competition is open to institutions in all CISA regions throughout the U.S. and Puerto Rico.

Once your team registration is paid through this payment processing page all your team members, alternate team members, and coaches are automatically registered. All registered teams receive free general admission to attend that national championship round at the National Cybersecurity Capabilities and Careers Symposia (National 3CS), which occurs on August 14-16 at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio.

The free 3CS admission is provided regardless of whether your team qualifies for the finals. The 3CS Games, Simulations, and Competitions Symposium will provide further opportunities for those not competing in the 2CDC Finals to test and demonstrate their capabilities in both individual challenges and a team competition.

Please click the REGISTER button to process your team registration payment. If a team faculty coach is a Premium Academic Member, your team receives a $100 discount on the registration fee. The coach must be a CyberWatch Academic Premium Member ($125 annual fee) or has purchased a premium membership before team registration to be eligible for the $100 discount. No discounts or refunds are possible after team registration has been submitted.
