The Prince George's County Technology Council (PGCTC) is seeking dedicated professionals and community leaders to help shape our work in 2027.
Our board is small, the work is meaningful, and the people who serve have a direct role in advancing technology education, cybersecurity, workforce development, and economic opportunity across Prince George's County.
Open Board Positions
Vice President (Applications Accepted)
Support the President, coordinate committee activities, and lead the Annual Meeting. The Vice President also assumes presidential responsibilities when the President is unavailable. This opportunity is accepting applications, although Husein Sharif currently holds the position.
Treasurer
Oversee the Council's finances, accounting, financial reporting, and budgeting. Ideal for someone with accounting, bookkeeping, or nonprofit financial management experience.
Community Member Representative
Represent county residents and help ensure PGCTC's programs address community needs. This position is designated for an elected official serving Prince George's County.
Technology Industry Representative
Connect PGCTC with technology executives, businesses, and industry partners. Help expand partnerships, educational opportunities, and workforce development initiatives.
Open Committee Leadership Positions
Communications Committee Chair
Lead communications, social media, announcements, promotional materials, and branding. Ideal for individuals with writing, marketing, public relations, or content creation experience.
Membership Chair
Recruit new members, strengthen member engagement, and help grow PGCTC's professional network. Ideal for someone who enjoys relationship-building and community outreach.
Finance Committee Chair
Support budgeting, accounting, financial oversight, and financial recommendations to the Board. The Council's committee structure designates the Treasurer as Finance Committee Chair, so this opportunity is subject to that governance requirement.
Resource Development Chair
Help secure grants, corporate sponsorships, donations, and other resources to support PGCTC's programs and operations. Ideal for individuals with fundraising, business development, or grant-writing experience.
What We Ask
Leadership positions generally require approximately four hours per month, including meetings, planning, and assigned responsibilities. Time commitments may vary depending on Council activities.
We are a working board, and we value people who are dependable, collaborative, and willing to take ownership of their responsibilities.
